Mirabel

Mirabel is a Canadian city of 64,032 inhabitants in Quebec located in the Laurentides region, about twenty kilometers northwest of Montreal. Exercising certain MRC skills, it is one of the largest municipalities in southern Quebec.

With a total area of 486.06 km2, Mirabel is the largest municipality in the Montreal metropolitan region. This particularity, due to the merger of several municipalities in the 1970s during the construction of the monumental Montreal-Mirabel international airport, explains from an urban planning point of view the heterogeneous ensemble that Mirabel forms. Highly agricultural, the city's population is distributed among different village centers. Furthermore, the urban area of several neighboring municipalities extends into its territory.

The city is approximately delimited by the Rivière du Nord (to the north), various roads and agricultural properties (to the west and south), the Laurentides highway (to the east) and the urban agglomeration of Saint-Jérôme (to North-east). Its territory is crisscrossed with rows and paths. It is crossed from north to south by the Arthur-Sauvé road (route 148), the Curé-Labelle boulevard (route 117) and the Laurentides highway. From east to west, Highway 50 is the main artery.
